Tudor Cioceanu

Tudor Cioceanu is a Romanian classical pianist who brings fresh interpretations to the world of classical music.

Born in Ploiești, Romania, Tudor began his musical journey at a young age, performing on stage from the age of seven and making his debut as a soloist with the Ploiești Philharmonic Orchestra in January 2016. After completing his Master’s degree at Conservatorium Maastricht, Tudor has focused on expanding his repertoire, performing works by composers like Liszt and Rachmaninoff, while also exploring contemporary classical compositions. He frequently performs both solo and in chamber music settings, sharing his passion for classical music through live performances and recordings. Tudor's versatility as a pianist was highlighted during his guest appearance on NPO Klassiek’s Vrij Spel, where he collaborated with his friend and oboe player Serol Yapici. Together, they reimagined Alessandro Marcello's Oboe Concerto, inspired by the striking resemblance between Marcello's chords and Balkan music. This led to a unique variation of the piece, exploring how it might have sounded if Marcello had been influenced by Balkan traditions, showcasing Tudor's ability to breathe new life into classical compositions.
