FOMA
Foma is the jazz duo of pianist/keyboardist Folkert Oosterbeek and saxophonist Maarten Hogenhuis, two household names in the Dutch jazz scene. Both are members of the energetic jazz quartet BRUUT!, known for their album 'Superjazz’.
They also have impressive individual careers: Oosterbeek has performed with the Metropole Orkest, Trijntje Oosterhuis, and Jasper Blom, while Hogenhuis is a celebrated soloist, composer, and producer who has collaborated with artists like Thomas Azier and Jesse van Ruller. He is also a recipient of multiple awards, including the Keep an Eye International Jazz Award. Though Foma is a new project, the two have been collaborating for years and have developed a deep musical connection. Their chemistry allows for plenty of improvisation, with each performance feeling spontaneous and alive. The interplay between piano and saxophone is seamless. Oosterbeek lays down a steady foundation while Hogenhuis weaves around it with his expressive saxophone lines.
