3VIOLAS: Three Violas, One Unique Sound! 3VIOLAS is an innovative trio that has been creating its own music since 2015. Geerten, Hessel, and Floris experiment with endless sound textures. The result is both whisper-soft and exuberant. Nature plays an essential role, serving as both inspiration and stage. To create new music, 3VIOLAS combines the human senses with technological ingenuity. For instance, sap flows in trees are measured using sensors and synthesizers, transforming them into sound. Their debut album Fauna is an ode to nature, where cinematic melodies and minimalist rhythms come together.
Their work hasn’t gone unnoticed. Performances at leading festivals such as Down The Rabbit Hole, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), and the Grachtenfestival, as well as iconic venues like Paradiso, the Concertgebouw and TivoliVredenburg, have secured 3VIOLAS a prominent place in the Dutch music scene. In collaboration with 24Classics, the ensemble continues to explore new ways to experience music. In 2025, 3VIOLAS celebrates its 10th anniversary with a brand-new album and program that pushes the boundaries of the musical universe even further.
